Halloween in Orlando Today: Zoo Boo Bash, Cranes Roost and Old Town Lead the Family List for October 31
Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, and Central Florida families still have a full day of trick-or-treat events to choose from — a zoo bash in Sanford, a park night in Altamonte Springs and free candy stations in Kissimmee among them.
Halloween Day itself is busy in Central Florida. The Central Florida Zoo in Sanford holds its Zoo Boo Bash today, October 31, the last of its listed October dates, with not-so-scary decorations, activities and trick-or-treat stations for children in costume, according to the Orlando Parenting Halloween listings read by the Local Desk this morning.
The afternoon starts early: trick-or-treating runs from 1 to 3 p.m. at Airport Lanes in Sanford, and Downtown Winter Garden holds its annual Halloween trick-or-treat from 2 to 4 p.m., with downtown businesses handing out candy. Old Town in Kissimmee follows from 3 to 11 p.m. with free trick-or-treating, candy stations throughout its streets and live entertainment.
The evening anchor is Halloween at Cranes Roost Park in Altamonte Springs, from 5 to 9 p.m. at 274 Cranes Roost Boulevard — described in the listing as a community-oriented, door-to-door trick-or-treat alternative for kids. SeaWorld Orlando's daytime Halloween Spooktacular also continues on its select-days run, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with trick-or-treating along its decorated trail.
Families heading out tonight in neighborhoods instead can expect warm weather for costumes: the station's live feed this morning put Orlando's Halloween high at 82.7 degrees with an 18 percent precipitation chance. Event times can change, so the desk advises checking the venue before leaving home.
