I-4 at Sand Lake Road: Westbound Exit Ramp Closes Overnight November 2–4, FDOT Says (Orlando Watch News)

Drivers who leave westbound Interstate 4 for Sand Lake Road at night will need the detour next week. The Florida Department of Transportation will close the westbound I-4 exit ramp to Sand Lake Road (State Road 482) at Exit 74A, and the loop ramp from westbound Sand Lake Road to Turkey Lake Road, nightly from Monday, November 2, through Wednesday, November 4, according to FDOT's Central Florida closure listings. The closures begin as early as 10 p.m. each night and end by 6 a.m. the following morning, with the final closure ending the morning of Thursday, November 5. The work — paving, sign structure and lighting — is part of the improvements to the I-4 and Sand Lake Road interchange.

FDOT's posted detour sends westbound I-4 drivers to Exit 74B onto northbound Adventure Way. From there, drivers can turn left onto westbound Hollywood Way and left again onto southbound Turkey Lake Road to reach Sand Lake Road west of I-4, or turn right onto eastbound Hollywood Way and right again onto southbound Universal Boulevard to reach Sand Lake Road east of I-4.

Also on the FDOT listings for the Orlando area: intermittent single-lane closures on northbound and southbound State Road 436 between Lake Howell Road and Casselton Drive run from Sunday, November 1, through Thursday, November 5, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., in the outside lanes and side streets for milling and paving work, with daytime inside- and outside-lane closures on the same stretch from Monday, November 2, through Friday, November 6, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., for concrete work and manhole adjustments. FDOT urges drivers to use caution in the work zones; schedules can change with weather.
