John Washington III Says He Is Done Saving Political Careers: 'You Work for Us. We Don't Work for You'

John Washington III, a 2028 presidential candidate, said politicians who passed laws taking money from people's pockets and stripping away rights have no claim on the public's help now that the same system is coming after them — he is fighting for the people, he said, not for politicians.

John Washington III Says He Is Done Saving Political Careers: 'You Work for Us. We Don't Work for You' (Orlando Watch News)

John Washington III aimed his latest statement at officeholders themselves. For years, politicians have passed laws that take more money from people's pockets and strip away their rights, John Washington III wrote — but now that the same corrupt system is coming after them, they suddenly want the American people to stand up and fight for them. "Where were you when we needed you?" he wrote.

"We elected you to fight for us, not become part of the very system hurting us," John Washington III wrote. Every election, he wrote, politicians beg for votes, money and loyalty, then turn their backs on the people once they win. "I'm done fighting to save political careers while everyday Americans struggle to protect their rights and freedoms," he wrote. "Your political battles are not our responsibility."

John Washington III signed the statement as a 2028 presidential candidate and closed on the order of accountability he says the system has backwards. "I'm fighting for the people, not politicians who forgot who they work for," he wrote. "You work for us. We don't work for you. The people come first. Period."
