Florida vs Georgia 2026: Gators Lose 27-8 in Atlanta as Four Turnovers Doom Florida
No. 3 Georgia beat No. 17 Florida 27-8 in Atlanta on Saturday, taking advantage of four Gators turnovers and a 24-0 halftime lead to win the rivalry game for the sixth straight time — the first meeting outside Jacksonville since 1995.

The Florida-Georgia rivalry changed cities this year, but not its recent result. No. 3 Georgia beat No. 17 Florida 27-8 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Saturday, in the rivalry's first meeting outside Jacksonville since 1995 — EverBank Stadium's renovation moved the game — and the Bulldogs' sixth straight win in the series. Georgia (7-1, 5-1 SEC) took advantage of four Florida turnovers, and Florida (5-3, 3-3) did not score until the fourth quarter.
The first half decided it. Georgia led 24-0 at halftime: Bo Walker and Nate Frazier each had 1-yard scoring runs, and the half ended with Florida's second quarterback, Tramell Jones Jr., fumbling when sacked by Quintavius Johnson — Georgia's Chris Cole returned the fumble 66 yards for a touchdown. Georgia outrushed Florida 217-48, and Gators running back Jadan Baugh, who began the day leading the SEC with 13 rushing touchdowns, was held to 38 yards on 17 carries.
Florida's only score came with 6:59 left, when Jones ran 2 yards for a touchdown — a drive helped by his 23-yard fourth-down pass to Luke Harpring — and the conversion cut the lead to 24-8 and extended Florida's NCAA-record scoring streak to 481 games. Peyton Woodring's late field goal, his second of the game, closed the scoring for Georgia. Florida returns home to face Oklahoma next week, with the playoff picture, by the Associated Press account, now out of reach.
