Westbound I-4 Ramps From Central Florida Parkway Close Overnight on November 13 — the Detour Runs Down Palm Parkway to S.R. 535

FDOT will fully close the westbound entrance ramps from 8:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. for milling and resurfacing of the new ramp, part of the I-4 and Daryl Carter Parkway project — and the signed detour is a two-left-turn loop through Palm Parkway and Apopka-Vineland Road.

Westbound I-4 Ramps From Central Florida Parkway Close Overnight on November 13 — the Detour Runs Down Palm Parkway to S.R. 535 (Orlando Watch News)

Drivers leaving the SeaWorld and resort corridor late on November 13 will find the way onto westbound I-4 closed. The Florida Department of Transportation will fully close the westbound Interstate 4 entrance ramps from Central Florida Parkway overnight on November 13, starting as soon as 8:30 p.m., with access expected to be restored by 6:30 a.m. the next morning. The closure is for milling and resurfacing the new westbound entrance ramp.

The detour stays on surface streets. Motorists traveling west on Central Florida Parkway who want westbound I-4 should continue past the interchange and turn left onto southbound Palm Parkway, proceed south, then turn left onto southbound Apopka-Vineland Road (State Road 535) and keep right to reach the entrance ramp to westbound I-4, according to the advisory. FDOT advises drivers to follow all posted detour signs and notes that construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

The work belongs to the I-4 improvement project at I-4 and Daryl Carter Parkway, the interchange building out the south end of the tourism corridor. The closure window is a single overnight, ending well before the morning drive — but it covers the late-evening hours when park and attraction traffic is still leaving the corridor, so drivers out after 8:30 p.m. on November 13 should plan the Palm Parkway loop in advance.
