I-4 Westbound Ramps at World Drive Close Two Nights Next Weekend: The S.R. 417 and Collector-Distributor Detour Runs Through a World Drive U-Turn
FDOT's Moving I-4 Forward program closes the westbound on-ramps at World Drive from midnight to 5 a.m. on the nights of November 8 and 9 for ramp construction — and the signed detour sends drivers north on World Drive, then back south to I-4 West toward Tampa.

Drivers heading west on I-4 from the Disney area late at night next weekend will meet a closed ramp. The Florida Department of Transportation's Moving I-4 Forward program will close the Collector-Distributor Road ramp to I-4 westbound at World Drive, and the S.R. 417 southbound ramp to I-4 westbound, on two consecutive nights — Sunday night into Monday morning, November 8, and Monday night into Tuesday morning, November 9 — from midnight to 5:00 a.m. each night, for ramp construction.
The detour is a loop. Traffic coming from the C-D Road or southbound S.R. 417 that wants I-4 westbound will exit at World Drive northbound toward Disney World, continue north on World Drive for approximately 0.75 miles, make a U-turn to begin traveling World Drive southbound, and then take the exit to I-4 West toward Tampa, according to the program's advisory, which was updated October 30.
The closures sit in the middle of the Moving I-4 Forward program's work around the World Drive and S.R. 417 interchange, the gateway between the resort corridor and the interstate. Both closure windows are overnight and end at 5 a.m., ahead of the morning drive; drivers leaving the parks or the resorts after midnight on those two nights should build the World Drive loop into their trip.
