Sand Lake Road Narrows at Night Through Thursday: Milling and Resurfacing Between Orange Blossom Trail and Orange Avenue
FDOT lists intermittent single- and double-lane closures with flagging on S.R. 482 from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights, for milling, resurfacing and marking work on one of the tourism corridor's main east-west streets.

Drivers crossing the tourism corridor after dark this week will meet the milling machines on Sand Lake Road itself. The Florida Department of Transportation's District 5 listings put intermittent nighttime single- and double-lane closures, with flagging operations, on Sand Lake Road (State Road 482) from Orange Blossom Trail to South Orange Avenue, running Sunday, November 1 through Thursday, November 5, from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. each night. The work is milling, resurfacing and marking — the full cycle of tearing up the old surface, laying new asphalt and painting it.
This is the surface street, not the interchange. Orlando Watch News has separately covered the overnight ramp closures at the I-4 and Sand Lake Road interchange (Exit 74A) running November 2-4; the S.R. 482 project is the arterial beneath and beyond it, the stretch that carries traffic between the Trail, the Florida Mall area and South Orange Avenue. A driver can meet both in one trip — a ramp closure on the interstate and a flagged single lane on the street below — and should budget for the combination on the nights they overlap.
FDOT's standing advice for the project is the department's usual caution: drive, walk and ride with caution and courtesy through the work zone. Flagging operations mean traffic alternates through the open lane in both directions at times, so even a short hop across the corridor can take longer than the map suggests between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. The closures are scheduled to end with Thursday night's shift, at 7 a.m. on Friday, November 6.
