Halloween Havoc in Orlando: Waller Keeps the NXT Title, and CM Punk Calls His Shot for Wednesday
Grayson Waller survived Tony D'Angelo in Saturday night's main event at the WWE Performance Center — then a video from CM Punk closed the show: a title match on Wednesday, November 4, on a night NXT moves for election coverage.

Orlando's WWE Performance Center hosted NXT Halloween Havoc on Saturday night, and the show ended with a challenge. Grayson Waller retained the NXT Championship in the main event against Tony D'Angelo: after a referee bump, Waller hit D'Angelo with a crowbar and pinned him with the Rolling Thunder Stunner. It was Waller's second successful defense since he won the title at Heatwave on August 30 — and it held only until the closing video, in which CM Punk, introduced by the show's host, Danhausen, announced he is coming for the title.
Punk's words, as aired: he told Waller he had waited to see how the D'Angelo match shook out, and closed with the line, 'I'm the landlord, and Wednesday, the rent is due.' The match is set for Wednesday, November 4 — a one-week move from NXT's usual Tuesday, because The CW is airing election coverage on Tuesday night. The Wednesday show airs at 8 p.m. ET on The CW, head to head with AEW Dynamite's Blood & Guts special in Jacksonville. Waller has been calling Punk out since August, including a backstage confrontation after an NXT live event in Petersburg, Virginia, on August 15.
The rest of Saturday's Orlando card: Kelani Jordan retained the NXT Women's Championship over Wren Sinclair, with her foot on the ropes for leverage; Izzi Dame beat Women's North American Champion Zaria in a non-title match to earn a future title shot; Zilla Fatu beat Charlie Dempsey in a No Rules Falls Count Anywhere match; Myles Borne beat Tavion Heights in a Weapons Wild match; and Shiloh Hill beat Naraku. Wednesday's announced card also carries a Women's Championship match against a mystery opponent and the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic final, with John Cena scheduled to appear.
