Election Day Is Tuesday in Orange County: Three Precincts Vote at New Polling Places, and Every Voter Has an Assigned Site

Polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3 — and unlike early voting, Election Day sends every voter to their own precinct. Voters in precincts 109, 726 and 729 have a different destination than last time.

Election Day Is Tuesday in Orange County: Three Precincts Vote at New Polling Places, and Every Voter Has an Assigned Site (Orlando Watch News)

Orange County's general election ends on Tuesday, November 3, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The rule that changes on Election Day is the one that trips up the most voters: during early voting, which ends today, any Orange County voter could use any of the county's 27 early voting sites, but on Tuesday every voter must cast a ballot at their assigned precinct polling place — the elections office runs 265 precincts — and a voter who is already in line at their assigned place at 7 p.m. may still vote.

Three precincts should check their destination before leaving home, because their polling places have changed, according to the Supervisor of Elections. Precinct 109 moves from Lake Whitney Elementary School to Windermere Seventh-day Adventist Church at 4100 McKinnon Road in Windermere — the one permanent change of the three. Precinct 726 moves, temporarily, from Heart of Florida United Way to Church in the Son at 4484 North John Young Parkway in Orlando, and precinct 729 moves, also temporarily, from Central Christian Church to Church on the Drive at 1914 Edgewater Drive in Orlando. The elections office's online lookup identifies a voter's assigned location from their house number and street name, and its polling-place assistance line is 407-836-2070.

Mail ballots have their own hard deadline: a completed vote-by-mail ballot must be physically at the Supervisor of Elections office by 7 p.m. on Election Day to count — a postmark alone does not make a late-arriving ballot count. Voters holding a mail ballot can also surrender it and vote in person instead. The Politics Desk will file turnout and results coverage as the county reports them on Tuesday night.

Judge Dismisses Trump's $10 Billion Wall Street Journal Lawsuit With Prejudice

A federal judge in Miami on Saturday threw out President Donald Trump's defamation lawsuit against the publisher of The Wall Street Journal for the second time — this time with prejudice, meaning the president cannot file it again — finding his claims over the Journal's Jeffrey Epstein birthday-letter article lacked merit.
