Three Orange County Precincts Vote Somewhere New on Election Day: 109, 726 and 729 Have Moved

Precinct 109's move is permanent and 726's and 729's are temporary, the Supervisor of Elections says. Election Day voters must use their assigned precinct — so a familiar building from a previous election may no longer be the right place to go.

Three Orange County Precincts Vote Somewhere New on Election Day: 109, 726 and 729 Have Moved (Orlando Watch News)

Orange County voters who plan to cast ballots on Election Day should check their destination before leaving home: three precincts have different polling locations for the November 3 general election, according to the Supervisor of Elections. Precinct 109 moves from Lake Whitney Elementary School to Windermere Seventh Day Adventist Church, 4100 McKinnon Road, Windermere — a permanent change. Precinct 726 moves from Heart of Florida United Way to Church in the Son, 4484 North John Young Parkway, Orlando, and precinct 729 moves from Central Christian Church to Church on the Drive, 1914 Edgewater Drive, Orlando — both identified by the elections office as temporary.

The distinction that matters most is the Election Day rule itself. Early voting, which runs through Sunday, November 1 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., lets any registered Orange County voter use any of the county's 27 early-voting sites. Election Day is different: on Tuesday, November 3, polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and voters must use their assigned precinct location — people in line by 7 p.m. may vote. The elections office's online lookup identifies a voter's assigned location from a house number and street name, and its polling-place assistance line is 407-836-2070.

The practical step now is to confirm the address, save it, and share it with anyone providing transportation — a wrong destination can consume the time a voter set aside to cast a ballot. Voters should bring valid, unexpired identification meeting the county's photo-and-signature requirements; if the photo identification lacks a signature, another accepted identification bearing one should be brought, and voters without acceptable identification can use a provisional ballot, the elections office says. For voters who would rather skip the precinct question entirely, the early-voting window stays open all weekend at any site in the county.
