Clemson Beats Florida State 36-24 in Tallahassee as the Seminoles Drop Their Third Straight
Florida State cut a 19-point fourth-quarter deficit to five, but Clemson freshman Tait Reynolds broke a 79-yard touchdown run on third-and-long with 3:17 left, and four Ashton Daniels turnovers doomed the Seminoles (3-5, 1-4 ACC) on Halloween night at Doak Campbell Stadium.

Florida State's season slid further on Halloween night. Clemson beat the Seminoles 36-24 at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee on Saturday, Florida State's third straight loss, dropping the Seminoles to 3-5 overall and 1-4 in the ACC, according to the Tallahassee Democrat's game report and the official scoring record.
The game turned on turnovers and one long run. Florida State quarterback Ashton Daniels threw for 350 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another score, but he also committed all four Seminoles turnovers — three interceptions and a fumble, the last interception coming in the end zone in the final minute. Clemson's Nolan Hauser kicked five field goals as the Tigers built a 29-10 fourth-quarter lead, and after Daniels rallied Florida State to 29-24 with a 41-yard touchdown pass to Jasen Lopez and a 13-yard touchdown run, Clemson faced third-and-long with the game in the balance.
Freshman quarterback Tait Reynolds settled it himself: on third-and-12 with 3:17 left he stepped up, outran the defense down the sideline and scored on a 79-yard run, restoring the two-score lead at 36-24. Reynolds finished with 189 passing yards and two touchdown passes plus 85 rushing yards for Clemson (5-3, 3-2 ACC), whose defense held Florida State to 65 rushing yards and one conversion in 10 third-down tries. Florida State travels to Boston College next Saturday still looking for its first road win of the season away from Tallahassee in the conference race.
