DeSantis Reappoints Giordano and Names Former Disney World President Vahle to the Board That Runs Orlando's Airports
Dan Giordano of Rosen Shingle Creek keeps his seat on the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, and Jeff Vahle — who ran Walt Disney World Resort — joins the seven-member board that oversees Orlando International and Orlando Executive, subject to Senate confirmation.

Governor Ron DeSantis has reshaped the board that runs Orlando's airports, announcing the reappointment of Dan Giordano and the appointment of Jeff Vahle to the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, the governor's office said in an October 30 release. The authority operates Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Orlando Executive Airport (ORL). Both appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
Giordano is the general manager at Rosen Shingle Creek, the resort and convention hotel on Universal Boulevard. His civic portfolio runs across the tourism corridor: he sits on the Visit Orlando Board of Directors, the Universal Boulevard Property Owners Association, the International Drive Community Redevelopment Agency Advisory Board and the Orange County Sports Incentive Commission, according to the release.
Vahle arrives from the top of Orlando's other giant. He is the former president of Walt Disney World Resort and currently serves on the Rollins College Board of Trustees and the Florida Council of 100; he previously served on the board of Give Kids the World, the Kissimmee nonprofit that hosts wish trips for critically ill children, the release said. The two appointments put a hotelier and a theme-park operator on the board of the airport that most of their guests fly through.
