Driver Arrested for DUI After Chain-Reaction Crashes on SR 417 — Troopers Say His Breath Samples Read 0.205 and 0.201 (Orlando Watch News)

A driver was arrested for DUI early Sunday morning after a series of chain-reaction crashes on northbound State Road 417 in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol account reported by FOX 35 Orlando. Troopers said the initial crash occurred around 12:30 a.m. near Mile Marker 30, when a blue Ford F-150 reportedly lost control on the wet roadway and struck a guardrail, triggering multiple subsequent crashes involving other vehicles.

Officers arrived around 1:15 a.m. and encountered a disturbance involving the driver, identified as Aden Martinez, and a man who identified himself as Martinez's father and was restraining him, officials said. The responding officer reported that Martinez was aggressive, yelling and appeared intoxicated. Troopers said Martinez was handcuffed and secured in a patrol vehicle after reportedly resisting efforts to place him inside, and Orange County Fire Rescue evaluated him for minor lacerations sustained during the altercation.

Martinez was arrested for DUI. At the Orange County Breath Testing Center, troopers said, he provided two breath samples registering 0.205 and 0.201. The charge is an allegation, and Martinez has not been convicted of anything in this case. Troopers said additional details surrounding the initial collision and the subsequent crashes have not been released.
