Downtown's quietest Sunday event is also one of its biggest. The Orlando Yoga Festival returns to Lake Eola Park today, Sunday, November 1, on the park's North East Lawn at 512 East Washington Street. The free one-day festival, run by the Heartfulness Institute, opens its doors at 8:30 a.m. and runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with admission free and open to the public; the organizer encourages advance registration online so attendees receive updates on workshops.

The day is built in layers: yoga sessions running all day for every level, Heartfulness meditation, health and wellness workshops, and holistic healing and therapies including massage and acupuncture offered through the marketplace. Around the practice lawn sit a wellness and holistic-health marketplace, organic and plant-based food and drink vendors, kids' activities, and an Artist Corner where families paint on canvas and in sand. The event runs a strict substance-free policy — no alcohol or tobacco on site — and a sound policy that bars loud amplified music at booths, keeping the day calm by design.

Practical notes for the morning: the festival footprint is on grass, not the paved lakeside path, so a mat on turf is the setup to expect, and parking around the downtown park is paid. The festival shares Lake Eola this morning with the Orlando Farmers Market, making the park a two-event Sunday. Sessions are described as covering all levels, from first-timers to experienced practitioners, and the day is billed as family-friendly throughout.
